AM: 3 miles to Arctic Circle

PM: Like every Monday, we had a work out! Warm up, DI Loop & Harts cool down. Like every Monday. The work out consisted of 5x800. We were supposed to have a 2:57 pace, but I stuck with Kaylee and we were down at 2:50 in the end. The work out felt SO good! I don't know if it was Sunday's rest or what it was, but I just ran and ran without any pain. Love when your work outs feels like that! Got vary mad when I found out that we had plyos and steps after...! But I'm glad now that I did them!

AM: 3 miles to Arctic Circle. Can run that run in my sleep by now :)

PM: I was excited about the work out today... What happened to me? I think yesterday's work out got me all pumped up! I don't know but after Saturday's 1600 I just neeeeed to give my all, I don't want to be bummed again! My goal is now to qualify before I turn 19 (in 3 weeks), and that is a pretty decent goal! Anyway,  the work out was, besides DI warm & Harts cool, 2x(2x1000 + 4x200). I felt really good today too, it was just the last two 200's I got super tired in my legs. Usually I hate 200's but today they were easier than they use to be for some reason. Over all this was a good work out and I'm happy we have two days of "rest" ahead of us! And I'm super excited for Thursday's long jump, haha. If I dare to do it ;)

PM: 4 miles easy... to Sandburgs. Oh my, I just hate that run!! But we all have our favorites so I've learned that complaining only makes it worse :) However, I never want to swim in the pond because it's cold and nasty.. so me, Kaylee G and Liz Lunt ran back while the rest were jumping around naked in the water. I'm a little bit mad I missed Stoner in sports bra though ;) After the run we had 8 striders + steps & plyos.

AM: Started this Spring Recess with a morning work out! After a DI loop, we entered the track. Since we didn't have any watch, nor knew the times we were supposed to hit, I ran with Kaylee's phone in my hand and we assumed times due to our 200 R pace time, which was 41 seconds. We did 2x600, 3x400, 4x300 & 6x200 with equal recoveries. I think we had a faster pace than we were supposed to have, throughout the entire work out. It felt good though and the equal recovery helped a lot! Oh, and I remember that our 300 m time was 1:01 every single time and the 400 was 1:24-1:26. I forgot the 600... and we didn't time the 200's. After the work out we did Harts cool down!

PM: 3 miles by myself in the sun! Gotta love it :)

Went out by myself this morning. It felt really good! I ran passed Pine View and out to Hot Nails and passed the "single double church" to the street named Bella.. something. And back of course. It was 9 miles and I listened to a total of 22 songs, FYI :) GREAT RUN!

AM: 8 am Kaylee and JP came to my house for a 10 mile run! We ran out to the 4-mile mark in Green Springs and back. We stopped at the Sullivan Soccer Park on our way back, to do steps and plyos. It was a great run!

PM: 3 miles easy from Lenka's house. It was HOT.

PM: Work Out, oh yes, oh yes, oh yes! It was steaming hot and my skin was frying.. but I'm not complaining.. I'm known for hating the cold, you know. As every Work Out we had DI warm & Harts cool so I'm not going to write that anymore. We ran 6x800 I, and we were supposed to hit a 2:57 time. We hit 2 seconds off (both up and down) as the most, but almost every time was 56, 57, 58! I felt like crap though, but it was good to get a feel of how it is to run in the heat. It will probably happen again soon. I'm not ready for another work out tomorrow, but I guess with some sleep now I'll feel better.

PM: Workout Wednesday! Feels like it was a long time ago we had a workout on a Wednesday (and I just learned that you spell workout like that and not like "work out" hehe..). Anyway, today we had 10x400. It's mentally SO tough to think that you have TEN of something, but since it's pretty fast you don't really have the time to analyze it, you just do it! Me and Kaylee were supposed to hit 1:20 and we did that almost every time! It was like 1:19-1:21, but to be honest, we did that pretty good! It wasn't as hot today either (even though the wind was a little bit annoying) so it felt fine!

PM: 5 miles easy out towards Washington. It was a great run with a good pace, and it's always fun to have Coach Roberts to chat with during the run! After the run we did 4x200's and that was okay.. didn't feel either good or bad. It was just.. okay!

PM: RACE!!! I wasn't nervous at all compared to the latest races.. I don't know if that's good or bad? Coach told me not to worry about times this weekend, mostly because the weather was going to be crappy - and it was!! It was windy and super cold, so it affected the times a lot! Anyway, my goal was to beat that girl from Canyon View who took 1st place at Desert Hills two weeks ago, and I did! I stuck with Kaylee the whole time and she was such a good help for me! We finished with just a tiny gap between us, so first I thought that I qualified. Turned out that I didn't, haha. But, we did a really good race and I know that I'll break the qualifying time at Dixie next weekend. I just know it!

Then the 2 mile: (can't add two race reports on the same day...)

Time: 12:03

Place: 1st

So, by the time it was our turn to run the 2 mile, it was like 9:30 pm and snowing. I'm not kidding. It was freeeeezing! Me and Stoner had the best PR's at the starting line, so I expected noting else than to take the lead. I did, and kept it the entire race. It's really hard to have the lead and push yourself and I could see that today! It was good that coach was screaming at me to accelerate by 100 m mark every lap, otherwise I would've settled in the same pace. But I made it and I took 1st place which is probably the first time ever for me :)

So, when I found out that today's meet at Cedar was combined with yesterday's, I took the opportunity to register for a race! I haven't been able to run anything outside of school stuff since I came, and when I was supposed to run the 1/2 marathon I got sick.. so this was really my only chance left! After 5 hours of sleep I went out in pouring rain.. Started of fast and no one really followed me so I just ran. It felt like I had a good pace and I wasn't struggling at all until one of the hills after 4 miles. But, as soon as the hill was over, I felt great again! I finished 2nd over all and 1st woman (can you consider yourself that if you're almost 19?) and this totally made my day! I also have a new 10K pr, but that was kind of expected even though the weather was hideous!

PM: Workout. The first thing I said during our DI warm up was that my head felt like it was floating.. and the workout turned out to be really crappy. We did 8x400, and I felt totally fine the first three of them, then something just happened. My head felt like it was gonna fall off and it pretty much did. I think it was all due to that I didn't really drink any water today because I forgot my bottle at home. Not very good if you ask me. Oh well.. I've had so many super good workouts lately that this was probably just good for me. Because when your body can't run, you have to use your mind. My mental strength (and Kaylee) pulled me through the last three 400's, and what doesn't kill me makes me stronger. So the workout on Wednesday is going to be fabulous! Harts cool down.

PM: 6 miles easy to the random house in Washington Fields, right by my house (or Frida's loop.. hehe). It was HOT and I was about to die. So was Kaylee on the way back. But, I guess I drank a lot better today so it wasn't nearly as crappy as yesterday. After the run we did striders.

PM: Pine View Relay Day! This was SO much fun! I didn't even know it was against other schools.. thought it was only Pine View, but I guess not! Like I said after Monday's workout, the one today was going to be fabulous, and it was! I did the Distance Medley with Kaylee, Janzen & Liz and we beat the school record! Didn't feel like I was running a 5:27 mile either.. oh my! When I finished I was disappointed that I might have got a crappy time and I was totally trying to convince myself that "you can have bad races sometimes" and "I didn't really have anyone to pace me in the medley".. and so on. So when I found out my time I was SO HAPPY. Then I ran the 4x800 and I don't know my time, but I think it was a PR.. haha! Last (and least) I did the 4x400 and the last 100 m of the lap my legs were dying, haha. I'm not really used to race the 400, especially not after two other races, but I really did my best and it was so much fun! Why aren't every meet like this?? Hm. I'm so ready for the Dixie meet to come this weekend. I've convinced myself to kick some but ;)

PM: 5 miles easy to Sandburgs... My favorite! Glad Roberts was with me because those cows are still hanging out over there.. uuh. The run felt good, but my legs were a little tight from yesterday's racing. I red today though that active recovery is the best recovery, so I'll be fine faster than fast! After the run I did 4x200!

PM: I QUALIFIED IN THE 1600 M!! I can't even describe with words how happy I am! Let's just make this brief: I got my five miles in BUT I REALLY DON'T CARE BECAUSE I QUALIFIED!!! Great race, by the way.

Okay.. I guess I want to read more about the race in the future.. so let's put some stuff down. I started out strong with a good pace and hit my first lap at 1:15. I kept getting closer to Aimee Bryson & Darian Sharp ahead of me (who by the way started out a little too strong), but I never really felt like I had to pass them.. I was just so focused on staying strong. Coach was screaming during the 3rd lap how me and Kaylee should pass them before the finishing of the 3rd lap.. but I don't know.. I just couldn't. I stayed strong throughout the whole thing though, and I think my ending (last 150 meters or so) were really strong. I've never felt such a push before, but I think I was afraid that my time would end up being like.... 5:29. Haha. This race gave me so much confidence, and I realize that NOTHING but yourself can stop you from getting where you want to be. Seriously.. when I hit the 5:30 time at the PV Invite I thought I was crazy for getting a new PR by 10 seconds. Today I did it again (Even if it was only 9). I seriously couldn't hold my tears back when coach told me. Then realized I gave myself the best birthday present I could ever ask for, with a lot of help from my coach and teammates of course! Now: getting ready for some great running tomorrow. It shouldn't be too bad since it's in the morning = Good temperature!!

Started out with the 3200 m this morning! It was really nice weather and I wasn't nervous at all until we hit the starting line! I started out quick and was right in the lead with the Ogden girls and Kaylee (except the crazy girl who beat the state record..) pretty much the whole race. Coach told us to get the acceleration in every lap from 125 m mark to 200 m mark and I really felt like I could do it. The only problem was that the other girls seemed to do the same thing. We stayed in this little lump of runners pretty much the whole race.. even though I really tried to pass them. I think I actually did it too during the 6th lap, but I was to tired to have the lead so they soon passed me again. Anyway, the point is that I was digging deep pretty much the whole race and I stayed with those speedy girls. Even though I ended up after them, I think I did a good job. Another thing that was good was my last kick.. it's usually the last 100 meters, but today it was more like the last 250 meters. I finished really strong and with a PR of 14 seconds.

Then me and Rachel ran the 800 m. Our goal was to PR, and I think we did, but I still don't know yet. It was funny how I finished 3rd and she 4th and we were excited abut getting medals and I was excited that I passed the Cedar girl in the end (so that we could get more points than them), and then we realized we weren't even in the fastest heat.. haha. Oh well.. it was a fun race, but my legs were way tired!

PM: Today we had the weirdest workout, haha! We did DI like usual, but then we had a "do as many 200's as you can, but make sure to keep your time otherwise you're out"-workout. I'm not complaining, but I can admit that it was hard to push yourself all the way. Me and Kaylee were supposed to hav ethe 1st 200 in a 40 seconds pace, then the "recovery" in a 51 seconds pace. We started out good, but after four laps I started to feel my legs. My 200's were still on time, but the 5th lap my recovery went from 51 to 56. I realized that the 6th one might be my last lap, so I gave everything the next 200 and ended up at 41 seconds (which I thought was pretty good!). The recovery was horrible though and I ended up at 1:05 or something. However, since that was two missed times, two laps in a row, I was done. We did a cool down and I didn't feel like the workout was enough.. I wanted to run more! Can't believe I'm saying this.... Good night!

PM: Workout-Wednesday! I think we get that now.. Haha. Me, Mia & Rachel were the only ones running today because of stupid injuries (I feel so bad for the girls but I know they'll get better SOOOON!). We did 2x200's with 200 recovery in between, and then 5 min tempo run. All this time two. I feel so good doing the 200's now compared to like... XC! I just feel so much better at them, and I'm not even scared to do them anymore! Progress, my friends! The first tempo I ran 1350ish meters  (was supposed to run no more than 1300), but when I figured out that my pace was a little too fast it was like nothing left so I decided to just go for it. The 200's after were still good and the last tempo was good too. With 2ish minutes left, coach helped me push myself hard. I started to breathe calmer and I was running more on my toes. It felt so good. I finished after 3 laps and 110 meters, but then I still had 10 seconds left at my watch. I pushed hard though and it felt good so.... it was basically a good work out. Now I'm just waiting for Kaylee to GET BETTER so I can run with her. Everything is so much more fun then! DI warm & Harts cool. The End.

PM: RACE! Okay.. so why did we have to wait until 7 pm to run our 3200m? That was really stupid, because I like to get things over with. However.. I wasn't really nervous today. I have to be honest and say I didn't even feel like racing at all. How awful is that? I don't know but the last few races have been such a good experience and last week I finally qualified for the 1600, so my mind was like "Do I really have to do this today?". Stupid. Well, I started out fast and strong and I had the lead from start until the beginning of the 8th and last lap. The Box Elder girl who had been right behind me the whole time passed. I wanted to stay up with her so bad, but my mind was not pushing me to do it, and my legs were tired. I'm really not used to push myself the entire race, I like to be pulled by others, so when she passed I was exhausted. When I finished I felt like I could've done better but i don't know.. This was far from one of my good races, but I guess that's how it is. Running has its up and downs, right?

I also did the steeplechase and it was SO MUCH FUN! I didn't know it before coach mentioned it, but apparently I smiled during the run, haha. That's not to often is it? I took 2nd but I don't remember my time. I don't think it was a good time anyway, haha.

So, Saturday and 1600 m. I was excited to race this because I wanted to stay up with Aimee Bryson and I wanted to beat the Box Elder girl from yesterday's 3200. So, basically that was my goal. It worked for... 2.5 laps? My legs were TIRED. I've never felt like that before during a race. Aimee started to take of and the Box Elder girl caught up with me. Blah. I was really bummed when I finished, because I didn't achieve my goal. My time wasn't great either. I guess this was just not really my weekend.

PM: Workout today like every Monday! It was HOT. We started with DI loop as a warm up, then we did 2x200, 1x800 & 1x300, all times twice. We had equal recovery in between, accept for between the 300 and the next set, where we had an 800 recovery. I was supposed to hit my 200's at 40, my 800's at 2:43 & my 300's at 57. It was so hard to hit the times! And now I don't mean that they were too slow, they were all too fast. Our 200's were 36/37, my first 800 was 2:40 & my first 300 53. Unfortunately we had to take a break in between the first 800 & the 300 because my nose started to bleed. All over the place. Great. However, we finished the 2nd set strong, with better times on the 200's. Right before the 800 coach told me to go strong and don't think about the time, so I did. I almost got a PR. Weird. I felt tired, but still strong so I just ran like it was the last thing I did. I'm happy we could still finish strong on our last 300! The cool down to Harts was the real pain of the day and my mouth was dried out. I guess you don't really care by then because the work out is over, and you can actually see the end of the day coming, haha.
